I AM SO THERE.
PREPARING MY DESTINY RIGHT NOW
do you think this is a fucking joke
Well we know that Giancarlo has been working on a secret project and that it is possible that it could be announced at NYCC since when I asked around SDCC he said he thought it would be announced around then. Even if it’s not, he still might be in it anyway.
Keep an eye out for this thing.
It’s gonna be fun and awesome. :D

CMON GAIZ, DO EET!!!
FRIDAY FANTERN SHENANIGANS
We started off at a local print shop. Had to print some prezzies for a certain producer of a certain series. THEY HAD A DC PORTFOLIO BOOK [pictured with our gooberific faces]. One of the guys at the shop is a fan of Green Lantern: The Animated Series too!
After our print shop adventure, we migrated over to the WB Studio to meet up with Giancarlo Volpe. We were wondering where to park, where the building was, WHERE EVERYTHING WAS. As we started to walk one direction, we heard a voice behind us:
Kim, Sarah, & Rosie: *freeze* *turn around* *gasp* GIANCARLOOOOO!!! *run into the producer’s arms*
Isaia almost cried. ALMOST…
Giancarlo was incredibly kind and receptive of our fangirl shenanigans. [SORRY GIANCARLO FOR SOBBING ALL OVER YOU WITH OUR FEELINGS.] He guided us to his office where he shared lots of super-neat things about his upcoming project, as well as some behind-the-scenes looks at ‘GLTAS.’
Many deep and insightful conversations about the animation industry took place. [As well as some falling on the floor and howling at the ceiling…] Giancarlo escorted us around the floor, showing us the beautiful place where beautiful things were made…
After some access pass problems, Giancarlo took us to lunch at Porto’s. The food was delicious! [Though we were a little paranoid after Giancarlo told us Jason Spisak haunts that restaurant.]
Giancarlo blessed us so much. He also extends his thanks and love to our fellow Fanterns who could not be present. WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH, YOU FABULOUS PEOPLE!
STILL CRYING ABOUT IT
Pics of our prezzies!
I have a lot of trouble expressing how I feel.
But not only did we have an opportunity to have an intimate look at the behind the scenes of our fave show, learn stuff about the animation industry, but had the chance to thank such a great, caring person for having such a big part of this series with such heart, passion and epic storytelling despite all the trials of fire and unfairness it had to go through to be made.
DC Nation Meetup is tomorrow, we will make sure to document that too! Especially to meet more great people like Jim and Co. So stay too tuned if you wanna see more adventures!
Friday, after a very unpleasant and kind of painful round of chemo, i came home to a box from WB Animation. “oh no, oh god,” I thought, “I’ve done something wrong and they’re suing me.” When you are full of narcotics basically all the time this feels like a reasonable assumption.
My mother stood by excitedly asking “WHAT DID YOU GET??? WHAT DID YOU GET?!” while i nervously catalogued all the ways i was definitely innocent of everything. i hadn’t even written fanfic. ive only drawn aya and razer almost smooching.
BUT THEN I OPENED THE BOX AND MY WHOLE DAY BECAME REALLY GREAT BECAUSE:
i just let out this sort of pathetic “oh god,” and went to rest my face on the counter. my mom spent several minutes cooing; my dad asked “what is that alien,” to which my sisters said “it’s from her children shows,” which, whatever, they are children. they can’t judge me.
THAT’S NOT ALL THOUGH
Okay so the camera snapped right when i was making the most disgruntled face possible, but check this heartwarming message that sent me into another pathetic string of “oh god”s. mom teared up and said ganthet was so sweet, i told her ganthet was cartoons. she said “oh.”
NOW THE VERY IMPORTANT FINALE:
“is this the robot and the alien you wanted to just kiss?” yes mom, yes. to be honest, chemo can exacerbate emotional reactions and so i definitely cried that time we had sixteen billion hiatuses in a row, and when our darling green girl got blasted into oblivion and a bunch of other things, big and small, but crying at this (the entire this, not just the smooch, though i cried at that too) does not feel at all like a chemo induced overreaction because this is just!! a super sweet amazing gesture and incredibly thoughtful and!! giancarlo volpe you have been so kind and so supportive to me throughout my embarrassing downward spiral into depressionland, through my diagnosis, through chemo, through all this stuff you didn’t even have to blink an eye at and yet you DID and you blinked it sweetly, because you are a sweet-ass person and i appreciate it so much, i appreciate you and i’m gonna cherish the snot out of these blocks of styrofoam and this beautiful saint walker and out of each and every one of your words.
I’M BEING EMBARRASSINGLY SAPPY ON TUMBLR AND I’M SORRY, BUT BASICALLY GIANCARLO VOLPE IS GREAT, GLTAS IS GREAT, THE CAST AND CREW ARE GREAT. CANCER AND CHEMO ARE NOT GREAT BUT THIS SHOW HAS HELPED ME GET THROUGH SOME ROUGH SPOTS BY GIVING ME SOMETHING POSITIVE TO FOCUS MY ENERGY ON. ALL IS WELL!!
IF YOU HAVEN’T WATCHED GLTAS EPISODE 116 “STEAM LANTERN” YET, THESE COLLECTED TWEETS BLOW SOME OF THE SURPRISES. WATCH FIRST, READ AFTER.
For those of you who missed it (or were just too busy watching the actual show) I live tweeted this morning’s episode of Green Lantern the Animated Series!
I know a lot of fans are relieved to have DC Nation back, but slightly impatient because a lot of you have already watched this one
from your pirate friendson iTunes.
Tune in next week for the return of Razer’s butt cheeks and Saint Flawless! Aya’s body should be ready by then.
How do I even begin to explain Giancarlo Volpe
WHAT A GOOD DAY
