I'm really into: Avatar: The Last Airbender, Disney, the Animes, Folktales from long ago and far away, narrative integrity, storyboarding/visual development inspiration.
And I really dig Green Lantern: The Animated Series right now!

Young Merida
Toddler Merida from Brave! For some reason I never got around to posting this drawing I did for the Disney Store toddler doll. It appeared in an interview I did for D23. They had taken a bunch of photos including ones of my desk , this was the drawing on my desk at the time. So, I thought I would post a clear shot of it. You see, when we were developing our doll, Merida did not yet exist as a toddler in the final film for Brave. We work hand and hand with the film makers while developing product for new films. So, they were on board with our development the whole way. I worked with the sculptor to make sure we got her just right. Or at least what I felt was right. I had images of Merida as she appears in the film grown up. I needed to put on my design cap to figure out how to translate her features to those of a toddler. I love how she turned out. As you can see, once Pixar did add her to the film , our doll has all the life and spunk of young Merida on screen.
