Before reading your note, I had not heard of her, so I checked out her doujinshi, Maaf, and at first I was like:

“Uh…How is something like a Hetalia doujinshi going to manage addressing the uglier side of history with non western colonized countries with chibi anthropomorphized anime characters lol, hmm I don’t know if this is something I’m going to regret checking out-“

But then I was like LEARNING ABOUT UNKNOWN HISTORY AND SHE CONSULTED WITH ACTUAL PEOPLE OF FILIPINO/ARRERNTE/YOLNGU HERITAGE FOR ISSUES LIKE the Spanish colonization of the Philippines, and the Aboriginal Stolen Generations and it wasn’t gross or inappropriate (as far as I know??)

Like holy crap, I didn’t know that Northern Australian Aboriginal language was influenced by Malay languages before the British Fleet arrival

And I didn’t know that the Philippines before the Spanish Colonization was called “The Namayan Kingdom” according to Malay scholars/?!?!?!? WAT

HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT THIS IS THAT GOOD?!?!?! WHAAAAAT

This is fantastic, thank you for recommending this to me! Probably now one of my favorites and quality fanworks. I like how it makes use of Hetalia as a vessel to educate people about this history, using that style? I WILL TAKE IT and will definitely look at the rest of her art/comics!
